Fund Transfers

We are currently pursuing a programme of fund rationalisation and re-organisation to deliver a more efficient platform for pooled funds and services to our pooled fund investors.

A key part of the rationalisation programme is the transfer of certain client assets which are currently invested in Aberdeen Irish-domiciled funds to new Aberdeen group managed funds domiciled in Luxembourg.

The Irish-domiciled funds are owned in large part by institutional investors whose assets we (and other members of the Aberdeen group) manage. In co-operation with these institutional clients, and their advisers and custodians, we are seeking to move those assets from the Irish-domiciled funds to the new Luxembourg-domiciled funds. It is anticipated that, following the transfer of assets, the Irish funds will be materially reduced in size (to the extent that some of the funds may require to be wound up) and the transfer is likely to render many of the Irish funds non-viable over the longer term. Aberdeen intends to afford Irish fund investors the opportunity to move to the Luxembourg funds at this time, without cost, with current investment management arrangements being maintained.
